MoneyMate AI Support
Last updated: August 13, 2026
This page answers common questions about accounts, budgets, subscriptions, the AI assistant, the Cash Flow calendar and your data.
Before you start
MoneyMate AI is a tracking tool, not a bank and not a financial advisor. It never moves money, never executes a payment or transfer, and gives no investment, tax or credit advice. Always check important figures against your own bank statements.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does MoneyMate AI connect to my bank?
No. There is no bank connection and no statement import. You enter records yourself, and the app keeps only a masked suffix such as •••• 1234 to help you tell accounts apart — never a full IBAN or account number.
Does my data leave my iPhone?
Your transactions, notes, account names and balances stay on the device. Only an aggregated summary — totals, category sums and percentages — is sent when you use an AI feature. See the Privacy Policy for the exact list.
What does the subscription include?
MoneyMate AI is a subscription app. After the free trial, a monthly or yearly plan unlocks the app: transactions, wallet and bank accounts, credit cards, bills, subscriptions, budgets, savings goals, the Cash Flow calendar, reports and the AI assistant.
How long is the free trial?
You get a short card-free trial when you first open the app, with no payment method required. On top of that, the monthly and yearly plans carry Apple's own introductory free period, which starts when you subscribe and renews unless you cancel before it ends. The exact lengths are always shown on the paywall screen inside the app.
How do I manage, restore or cancel my subscription?
Subscriptions are managed by Apple. Open iPhone Settings → your Apple ID → Subscriptions, then select MoneyMate AI. To move a purchase to a new device, sign in with the same Apple ID and tap Restore Purchases on the paywall screen. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Why can't I change my currency?
The app works in a single currency, chosen during onboarding and locked afterwards. Nothing in the app converts between currencies, so allowing a change later would silently mix units in every total. The only way to reset it is Settings → Delete Data, which clears your records and starts over.
I paid with a credit card — why isn't it on the Cash Flow calendar?
That is intentional. Cash Flow projects your cash balance, and a card purchase does not move cash on the day you buy: it moves when the card is paid. The amount appears on the calendar on the card's payment or statement due date instead, so the same money is not counted twice.
I added an expense in the "Subscription" category, but the Subscriptions screen says none. Why?
A recorded expense and a subscription are two different records: one is a payment that already happened, the other is a recurring obligation the app tracks and projects forward. Open the transaction's detail and use Track as subscription to create the subscription from it — the next billing date is set one cycle after the payment you already recorded, so the charge is never counted twice.
Why did my subscription suddenly become a real expense in Transactions?
When a billing date passes, the app records that charge as an actual expense so it shows in your totals and moves the right account balance. Before the date it appears as an upcoming projection instead.
Can I pause a subscription?
Yes. Use the overflow menu on the subscription's row to pause it; no charges are recorded while it is paused. Resuming moves the next billing date forward to the next upcoming date, so a pause never backdates charges that never happened.
Why can't I delete a credit card or archive an account?
Something is still funded from it — an active subscription, an unpaid bill, or a live recurring expense or income. The app blocks the deletion instead of leaving records pointing at an account that no longer exists. Move or cancel those items first, then try again.
Which languages does the app support?
Thirteen: English, Turkish, German, Dutch, French, Spanish, Italian, Brazilian Portuguese, Arabic, Russian, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean. The language is chosen inside the app and also controls how dates, amounts and percentages are written.
Can I lock the app?
Yes. Turn on the Face ID / Touch ID lock in Settings. It falls back to your device passcode.
Why did I stop receiving reminders?
Check that notifications are allowed for MoneyMate AI in iPhone Settings, and that the individual reminder types are switched on in the app's notification settings. Reminders are scheduled locally on your device.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. Settings → Delete Data removes your local records, preferences and pending notifications after a two-step confirmation where you type DELETE. Deleting the app also removes its local data. This cannot be undone.
